Our dearest Granny Joy, today we say goodbye,
you have gained your wings and now it is time to fly.
Taken from us during this strange world we now reside,
choices taken away from us, and new laws we must abide.
It was never easy knowing that in your final days,
we couldn't be there to tell you, we will love you always.
But Mum was there to hold your hand until the very end,
your loving daughter, a moment we cannot comprehend.
At peace now and suffering no more,
your Mum and Dad are waiting, of that we're truly sure.
Now we will remember you and the moments that we shared,
the eternal love you had for us and the many ways you cared.
They say nothing loved is ever lost, and our love for you continues on.
You may be out of sight, but not forever gone.
You are now the sun bringing light into our lives,
that bright shining star in the night skies.
You are that little robin, who is always very near,
a beautiful rose which blooms year after year.
Until that day we meet again, in our hearts you will stay,
for as long as you are in our hearts, you haven't really gone away.
